Phase 1 of the Princeton Overhead Bridge is complete! Friday October 10th, 2025, beginning at 8:00 am. Traffic will be shifted from its current location, on to the newly constructed half of bridge. Phase 2 of construction will be very similar to Phase 1 with traffic being placed on opposite side. During Phase 2 of construction two lanes of traffic will be maintained across the new bridge. The traveling public is asked to use caution through this area, observe all construction signs, and follow the construction speed limit.
Phase 2 will consist of demolition of the remaining bridge and then begin building from the foundations to a new bridge deck. This will include new foundations, abutment, piers, beams, deck and parapets that will tie into Phase 1.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, a new traffic pattern has been implemented. This change will help expedite the construction of Phase 1 and will remain in place until the transition to Phase 2. The revised pattern is designed to minimize impacts to both the travelling public and local businesses. The traffic pattern for westbound travelers from Thorn Street to Straley Avenue remains largely unchanged. However, eastbound traffic on Straley Avenue has been modified. Drivers should follow the channelizer cones, proceed to the right of the pedestrian islands, and continue in front of Mercer Glass & Mirror and the Fred Gilbert Center.
