The project has resumed full time work and preparations are underway for the first phase of bridge demolition and construction. The project will implement a new traffic control pattern that will close approximately one half of the bridge to allow for new construction. The project will shift traffic lanes narrowing the bridge and add new lanes to allow for 2-way traffic while under construction. At first the traffic shift will utilize cones and drums to delineate the work zone from the travel lanes, concrete barriers will be installed later to provide safety to the traveling public and construction workers on the project. New paint lines will be used for the newly designated travel lanes. This implementation of new traffic control for phase on construction is anticipated to begin on 6/13/2024.
